10. Black Panther
Director: Ryan Coogler
Stars: Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o
The Black Panther is part of the “Marvel Cinematic Universe” but this universe is also the most advantageous; It brings the charming and vigorous cult of the Wakanda nation and also 18th movie from Marvel Comics. But the real joy of the Black Panther, the friction between history and progress, the resultant logic of resistance to king T’Challa (Boseman), and Killmonger (Jordan), who have nothing in common.
Black Panther warriors Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira are like strawberries on top of cake, as well as one or two strawberries. Did i tell you this movie was perfect?
Director: Valeska Grisebach
Stars: Meinhard Neumann, Reinhardt Wetrek, Syuleyman Alilov Letifov, Veneta Frangova
Why is it so great: in this film that goes out with a impressive name, you will not find cowboys, locals, bandits, heroes, handcuffs or gunfights and huge buckets. The film, however, bases its back on the foundations of the Old West, telling the sad story of a man trapped between two rural worlds.
Meinhard (Meinhard Neumann) is trying to repair the gulf between a man and his people working in a hydroelectric power plant built by a German construction company along the Bulgarian river.
The local people see these employees as intruders because of hostility after the war. Yes, the Western is a Western, but Grisebach’s European lenses do not make fanfare when they tell the plain story of the guy on the outside.
Director: Duncan Jones
Stars: Alexander Skarsgård, Paul Rudd, Justin Theroux, Seyneb Saleh
First of all do not believe the imdb score, just trust me and watch it. Why is it so great: Jones has been head-on for sixteen years on this sci-fi thriller, and the resulting tortuous horror movie has not managed to be mysterious (although he tried), but goes beyond his expectation as a graphic futurism and character originality and bizarre intrigue.
7. The Road Movie (Doroga)
Director: Dmitrii Kalashnikov
Why is it great: there are cameras on almost every Russian vehicle that are placed in front of cars. Because the law of the country has been abolished, corruption of the security forces and the accidents in one of the laws are invalid. Sometimes on YouTube you get stunned, stupid, surreal videos shot with these cameras.
These types of vehicles arrive at us with delightful, pre-recorded images of extreme speed chases, violent discussions, zig-zag trucks, vehicles caught in natural disasters, and vehicles exploding into the sky like comet Dmitrii Kalashnikov. The film, which shows ‘terror’, presents a specific portrait of the Russian life behind the wheels.
Director: Ari Aster
Stars: Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff, Milly Shapiro
As a horror genre fan, this movie got under my skin in a big way. What makes this movie special ? It’s all in the performances: The incredibly versatile Toni Collette, you know her from The Sixth Sense and also she plays Annie character in this movie,an artist who works from home constructing intricately designed miniatures of her own life.
For its first 40 minutes or so, the film plays like a strange psychodrama in the vein of Michael Haneke, but then an unspeakable event occurs about halfway through and the tension skyrockets. Anyway just watch that thrilling movie for scary nights.
5. You Were Never Really Here
Director: Lynne Ramsay
Stars: Joaquin Phoenix, Ekaterina Samsonov, Alex Manette, John Doman
You saw hitman movies but definitely not like this one. This crime story, adapted from a novella by Bored to Death writer Jonathan Ames, is about an ex-soldier named Joe (Joaquin Phoenix) who finds himself tasked with recovering a kidnapped girl amidst a sinister political conspiracy involving human trafficking. It makes you excited and capture you from beginning to end. It’s a death-obsessed movie with life.
4. Deadpool 2
Director: David Leitch
Stars: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin
Deadpool, on the one hand while continuing heroic works, on the other hand continues his daily life. Deadpool is in a haphazard state, and the situation is a result of the fact that his girlfriend Vanessa dies. After a mission he cooperates with X-Men, he is accused of being held in a prison where mutants are held, and he meets a boy named Russell, who is in trouble. Deadpool, who has a tight connection with the child, will have to go into battle with the cable coming in to kill Russell. Like the first movie, nice jokes, nice action scenes and plus new characters.
3. Avengers: Infinity War
Director: Anthony Russo, Joe Russo
Stars: Robert Downey Jr. , Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo,
As you know, in the film, Thanos aims to collect the Stones of Infinity and make a “mass balance” by making a massacre that will result in the death of half of the universe, and the Avengers are trying to save the world. Once you look at it, even the idea that the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe will fight against a single enemy on a front is enough to excite all the audience . At this point there is a question mark in the head: “Will they be able to give enough time to each character? Obviously one of the few great doubt in my mind was. But I can say for sure that you wipe this suspicion in your mind. The time each character took in the film was ideal.
Thanos and Thor, the most time-consuming characters we have ever seen in promotions, are not only unexpected, but Star-Lord’s place and contribution in the film is also great. In the film, the characters are fighting in different positions in the form of small teams and there are several scenes between some of the scenes. It may bother you a bit and it may lead you to lose the excitement of that moment, but I do not think it is absolutely u comfortable. We already have so many characters in the film that we have to understand it. Anyway this is definitely one of the top 3 movie in 2018 (so far)
2. A Quiet Place
Director: John Krasinski
Stars: Emily Blunt, John Krasinski
A Quiet Place is a horror-thriller film that will definitely be on the list of best of the year, the third directorial experience with the signature of John Krasinski. It seems to be a dystopian science fiction but salutes the film Signs with the tense chase scenes between a silent place cornfields that go on footsteps of films like Alien, Predator, which remain untimely.
Though he does not make use of the cheap numbers of the build horror warrior who is the subject of the struggle for the silent and dangerous existence of a core family, he obsesses over the norms of the thriller-fear warrior. A unique and coherent world where sound effects and cinemas pass through to make him unique. A Silent Place that keeps your pleasure alive is a kind of staple to your seat from the first sequence until the last scene.
Director: Alex Garland
Stars: Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tessa Thompson
Why is it so wonderful: After a few days (or a few weeks?) After starting an exploratory trip in the “Area X” area where there is an abnormal phenomenon that appears to be a bright and seemingly extraterrestrial phenomenon in Florida’s coastal area? Ventress (Leigh) confesses to his colleagues that his mission is not exactly a suicide mission, and says: “Almost none of us do not commit suicide. Our seed destroys itself. ”
We can see the DNA-altering effects of abnormal activities in the region from the eyes of Lena (Portman), which is the result of the team that is going to be bad, and we can feel the emotional weight of her bones leaving herself in pristine wilderness. In this film, Alex Garland adapts Jeff Vandermeer’s popular novel as a zoological horror-adventure built around a Möbius lane quietly but cheerfully, and does not pay much attention to scientific questions and ask a lot of questions about humanity.
Lena’s husband went to an unknown and disappeared, then turned around. Why? All the world’s wonders and the natural thrill of Portman are at the disposal of director Garland while wandering through this surreal, frightening and surprising vocal story of the best science fiction of the last decade.
